HONG KONG ON THE WATER

The ideal time for major sailing events in Hong Kong is November. During this month, the North-East Monsoon brings moderate to fresh breezes, clear skies, and comfortable temperatures ranging from 18 to 25 degrees Celsius.

HONG KONG OFF THE WATER

Hong Kong is an exciting and dynamic destination that goes beyond being a shopping paradise. It features stunning natural beauty, including the UNESCO Global Geopark, diverse local and international gourmet cuisine, and major cultural attractions like the newly opened Hong Kong Palace Museum and M+.

Hosted by

Hong Kong itself and the RHKYC are amazing, and the level of hospitality we received here is incomparable to anywhere else.

RACING FROM CLEARWATER BAY

Boats will dock at the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club marina, which offers 300 berths, dining facilities, changing rooms, and a spacious open-air area suitable for major sporting events.

The racecourse, which is up to 8 nautical miles long, is located in the South China Sea near the Ninepins Islands, the site of the 2015 Etchells World Championship.

Repair, sail, and lifting services will be available, with post-race transport by ferry or bus to the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (RHKYC).

The Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club offers a peaceful escape with world-class golfing, sailing, and a range of sports and recreational facilities. Surrounded by scenic hills, distant islands, and the South China Sea, the golf course praised by Olympic Gold Medallist Justin Rose as “The Pebble Beach of Asia” features the renowned “Highland Nine” and “Ocean Nine,” with its signature third hole recognized among the “500 Best Holes in the World.”

I thought the race course was a stunning race course because you always had options. If you had a bad start, there was always something to look at, something to give you a bit of hope … all the way up there, lots of nice little shifts.
— Stuart Childerley (GBR), two-time Finn Olympian, two-time Etchells World Champion & International Race Officer
