  • The shipping process will be divided into five key phases spanning February 2026 to October 2026:

    A. STEP 1: EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION (by 28 February 2026)

Registration for the early-bird shipping subsidy for shipping your boat must be completed by 28 February 2026.

    C. STEP 3: COMPLETION OF SHIPPING CONTRACT (by 14 August 2026)

    D. STEP 4: SHIPPING TO HONG KONG (August to October 2026)

Boats will ship in waves from the indicated locations in each country, depending on the owner’s preference and any additional events people might consider participating in.

    E. STEP 5: RECEIVING (October 2026)

The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club will receive the boats, unload them from the container, and store them outdoors until their owners arrive. The dedicated question below provides more detailed information.

    F. STEP 6: SHIPPING BACK FROM HONG KONG (December 2026)

The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club will load the containers in the week following the event. They will then be shipped back home or to the indicated location, arriving 4-6 weeks later (estimated for mid-to-late December 2026).

  • Invoices will be issued by the Hong Kong Dragon Association before shipping.

  • Event organisers will ship boats in and out without any tax or customs duty implications. However, additional costs may apply if you choose to leave the boat in Hong Kong beyond the event schedule (for example, permanently or by selling it here).

  • We have main arrangements from Rotterdam, Fos-sur-Mer, Fremantle, Osaka, and Kobe, but we can also offer alternative options from Hamburg, Antwerp, Felixstowe, Valencia, and Genoa.

Our official event carrier can also serve most other ports worldwide. Therefore, should you require assistance at other ports, please do not hesitate to contact our Logistics Liaison, bram@dragonworld2027.com.

  • The shipment will be offered from the ports mentioned; however, alternative ports can be suggested upon request. We can also assist with local trucking in the country of origin. However, the event organisers rely on local fleets and/or owners to find a suitable partner or organisation to load the containers locally. The owners will be responsible for delivering the boat to the indicated port. Please contact our Logistics Liaison at info@dragonworld2027.com to confirm local arrangements.

  • All containers will be delivered to the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club Kellett Island boatyard, unloaded by club personnel, and stored until the owner arrives.

The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club is a members-only club with secure premises and 24/7 security. Boats will be stored outdoors during summer-like weather (30-35°C) at the boatyard. Photos of the unloading and boat parking will be taken.

The cost of unloading and loading the containers is included in the shipping cost.

The cost of lifting the boats in (one-time) and out (one-time) for the event is already included.

Any additional fees from the boatyard, such as assistance with stepping masts, can be charged separately.

  • If you want to participate in the container loading process, please let us know in advance (on the shipping form)! We will aim to prioritise loading such containers, and the exact schedule will be published later.

Please note that we may be unable to accommodate your travel schedule or other requests. Unless otherwise requested, all other boats will be loaded by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club personnel and shipped in the weeks following the event.

  • The boats will enter the country either under an ATA Carnet or under temporary importation. This will be decided on a case-by-case basis, depending on the intended shipping location. Further details will be provided in mid-September 2026, once all shipping information is known. Please note that Hong Kong is a so-called “Free Port"; thus, these facilities are in place to ensure a hassle-free return to your country.

  • Responsibility for shipping will remain with the official Ocean Carrier for the event, the venue host (the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club in Kellett Island), and the event Logistics Liaison, bram@dragonworld2027.com, for all coordination, as they will facilitate shipping and storage arrangements. All potential issues, such as delays and damages, must be resolved directly with the three parties, but will be centralised through our Logistics Liaison, bram@dragonworld2027.com.

  • That’s not a preferred option, as it can significantly disrupt event logistics. We will review and approve such requests on a case-by-case basis after consulting the sponsors of the subsidised rates.

  • You are welcome to arrange alternative shipping and organise shipping independently. Please note that any self-organised shipping will not qualify for the shipping subsidy. If you ship your boat independently, please inform the Logistics Liaison by email at bram@dragonworld2027.com when your boat arrives at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club.

  • No, we will focus only on organising event-organised, subsidised shipping. If you choose to ship the boat yourself, you must ensure that it arrives at or departs from the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, including all clearance, customs, and local transport matters. We can offer some advice on a best-effort basis, but do not rely on us to resolve any problems that may arise.
