Preparation

Measurement and registration will take place at Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club Marina (CBGCCM) from 09:00 to 17:30 on:

• 17 and 18 November, the opening days of the Asia Pacific Championship
• 21 and 22 November, the opening days of the World Championship

All boats will be measured on their trailers and may be launched only after completing the full measurement and inspection process.

Boats based at Shelter Cove will be measured on their trailers at Shelter Cove on 16 November.

Before travelling, upload your measurement certificate and insurance document to your Clubspot entry by 1 November 2026, or earlier if possible. These are the only documents that need to be uploaded. Photo identification does not need to be uploaded and must be presented in person at registration and weigh-in.

Before your scheduled inspection time, please bring the following to the Technical Committee Desk:

• The original measurement certificate
• The original insurance document
• A completed sail registration form listing your declared sails

Uploading these documents does not replace the requirement to present the originals.

Once measurement and inspection have been signed off, proceed to the regatta office for final registration and weigh-in. Photo ID will be required.

A boat that completes measurement and inspection for the Asia Pacific Championship will also comply with the requirements for the World Championship, provided no subsequent changes are made to the boat, its sails or its equipment.

Crew weighing is mandatory for the World Championship, whether or not the crew competed in the Asia Pacific Championship.

Sail measurement is available on a walk-in basis and does not require a booking. During your boat inspection, you will be advised which sails must be measured.

Insurance

Third-party liability cover

All boats must carry at least HK$5 million in third-party liability insurance per incident, or the amount required by the Notice of Race if higher. Upload proof to your entry on Clubspot by 1 November, and bring the original: it is checked again at registration.

Under the IDA disclaimer, all participants race at their own risk, and the organising authority accepts no responsibility for injury, death or damage before, during or after the regatta.

Hong Kong boats

HKDA membership

Every Hong Kong boat competing in the Asia Pacific or World Championship must hold current Hong Kong Dragon Association (HKDA) membership, as required by the Notice of Race and the IDA World Championship Rules. Under Rule 11 of the IDA World Championship Rules, the HKDA also expects every crew member of a Hong Kong boat to be a member.

The 2026/27 annual fees are:

• Boat ownerHK$400
• CrewHK$200
• Junior crewHK$100, for crew under 28 on 29 November 2026.
• Pay by15 November 2026.
• Overseas crewsNo HKDA fee. You stay members of your own national association.

Pay through Moongate below, or find the same item in the championship app. Keep your confirmation email and bring it to registration, along with your measurement certificate and insurance.

Marina

In-water boat cleaning

A professional diver service will be available to clean boats in the water on Sunday 22 November 2026, the lay day between the Asia Pacific Championship and the Dragon World Championship.

The service is primarily intended for boats that have competed in the Asia Pacific Championship, but it is also available to boats being launched for the World Championship.

The cleaning fee depends on when booking and payment are completed. Bookings are made through Moongate.

• By 31 OctoberHK$750 per boat, for the first 20 boats booked and paid.
• 1 to 15 NovemberHK$1,000 per boat.
• After 15 NovemberNo bookings accepted. The divers need at least seven days’ notice.
• No lift-outBoats may not be lifted out of the water for race cleaning.
• Self-cleanSailors may swim around and clean their own boats in the water on any day.

Transport

Shuttle bus timetable

Complimentary coaches run between the Hopewell Hotel, RHKYC Kellett Island, Hang Hau MTR and the Clearwater Bay race venue. Pick a day, then a pickup: every service that day is listed. First come, first seated, no registration.

Catering

Lunch & Snacks

Packed lunch sets from the Clearwater Bay kitchen, ordered ahead and collected at the marina. Available on 19 to 21 November and 23 to 29 November only, not on the lay day, 22 November.

Each set is HK$150 and includes one sandwich, a bag of potato chips, an apple or pear, and a protein bar. The sandwiches are:

• Ham & cheddar cheese & mustard
• Smoked salmon, dill, sour cream, cucumber, capers and lettuce on Scotch baps
• Falafel, hummus, peppers, goats’ cheese, rocket and basil aioli on Scotch baps
• Turkey BLT with avocado & mayo on Scotch baps
• Tuna, cucumber & mayo on Scotch baps

Order for each race day you want, for yourself and your guests, through Moongate. Sign in with the email on your race entry, open the lunch tab, and place the order there, in the championship app or in any browser.
