Terms of Use

The terms on which you may use the 2027 Hong Kong Dragon World Championship website.

This website is run by the Hong Kong Dragon Association for the 2026 Hong Kong Dragon Asia Pacific Championship and the 2027 Hong Kong Dragon World Championship. By using the site you accept the terms below. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

Who runs this website

The site is published by the Hong Kong Dragon Association, c/o Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, Kellett Island, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong SAR, China. The championships are organised by the Sailing Federation of Hong Kong, China, in partnership with the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club and the Hong Kong Dragon Association. Any question about these terms can be sent to info@dragonworld2027.com.

The racing documents come first

The pages here describe the championships in plain language so that competitors, families and visitors can find their way around. They are not the rules of the event.

The Notice of Race, the Sailing Instructions, and anything posted on the Official Notice Board, together with the Racing Rules of Sailing and the class rules, govern the racing. Where anything on this website differs from those documents, those documents apply and this website does not. If you spot a difference, please tell us at info@dragonworld2027.com so that we can correct the page.

Times, dates and details can change

Schedules, social programme, venues, prices, partners and the names of people taking part are published as they stand on the day you read them, and a championship held over two weeks in November 2026 will change in some of its details before then. Racing is also weather-dependent, and the Race Committee may move or abandon racing at any time. Nothing on this site is a promise that an event will happen at the time or place shown.

Entering a championship

Entries are not taken on this website. The Enter buttons hand you over to Clubspot, an entry and payment service run by a separate company, and once you are there you are on their site and subject to their terms and their handling of your card details. Your entry is with the organising authority, on the terms set out in the Notice of Race, which is where you will find the entry fees, the closing date, and what happens to a fee if an event is cancelled or you withdraw.

Other websites we link to

We link out to partners, sponsors, hotels, airlines, tour operators, government departments and results services. Those sites are not ours, we do not control them, and a link is not a recommendation of anything they sell. Read their own terms and privacy policies when you get there.

Photographs, words and marks

Unless we say otherwise, everything on this site is owned by the Hong Kong Dragon Association or used with permission: the text, the page designs, the championship name and logo, and the photographs.

The photographs are the work of professional photographers and are licensed to us for this website. Sailing photography is by Takumi Images and Bill Cox, and the West Kowloon aerial view is © Virgile Simon Bertrand. Our permission does not extend to you. Please do not copy, republish or reuse them, on social media or anywhere else, without asking first.

Sponsor and partner logos belong to those companies and may not be used without their permission.

You are welcome to read the site, print a page for yourself, and share a link to it. Press and media are welcome too: for photographs, logos or copy for an article about the championship, write to info@dragonworld2027.com and we will send you what you need and tell you how it should be credited.

Using the site properly

Please do not try to break into the site or the systems behind it, copy it wholesale by machine, overload it, or use the contact form or the newsletter to send anything unlawful, threatening, abusive or misleading, or to send advertising to us or to anyone else. We may block anyone who does.

The newsletter and the contact form

Signing up to the newsletter means we may email you news about the championships. Every mailing carries an unsubscribe link, one click removes you, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time by writing to info@dragonworld2027.com.

A message sent through the contact form reaches us by email. Please do not send anything confidential or urgent that way: ordinary email is not a secure channel, and a form is not the way to reach a race officer during racing.

What we do not promise

We take care to keep this site accurate and available, but we cannot promise that it will be free of errors or that it will always be reachable. It may be unavailable while it is being updated, and parts of it depend on other services: the maps come from OpenStreetMap and OpenSeaMap, the weather from a public forecast service, the entry lists and official documents from Clubspot and Racing Rules of Sailing, and if one of those is down that part of a page will not work.

The site is provided as it is. Please check anything that matters, a date you are booking a flight around, a deadline, an entry fee, against the Notice of Race or with us directly.

Where our responsibility ends

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that follows from using this site or from relying on something published here, including travel or accommodation booked on the strength of a date that later changed. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Taking part in the championships, and going afloat at all, carries its own risks, and the responsibility for a boat and its crew is dealt with in the Notice of Race and the Racing Rules of Sailing, not here.

Your information

What we collect and what we do with it is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date below always shows the version you are reading, and using the site after a change means you accept it.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and any dispute goes to the courts of Hong Kong.
