30 Days to Go: Getting Ready for Hong Kong
Hong Kong, 20 October 2026
Entries are closed. 95 boats from 21 nations are confirmed for the 2027 Hong Kong Dragon World Championship, 21 to 29 November at Clearwater Bay. Here are the deadlines that still matter for competitors, crew and visitors.
Whether you are racing, travelling with a team or coming to watch, several important cut-offs are approaching. Competitors must finalise crew lists and uploads; everyone should confirm hotel arrangements, flights and social programme bookings, and check how to follow the racing. Many options close once the deadline has passed.
For competitors
Reopen your entry with Find my entry, check every crew name, and make sure each crew member’s T-shirt size and emergency contact are filled in. Corrections are easiest now, not at the weigh-in desk. Racing in the Asia Pacific Championship as well? Keep that Clubspot entry current the same way.

Upload your valid measurement certificate and insurance document (at least HK$5 million third-party liability per incident, or the Notice of Race figure if higher) to Clubspot by 1 November 2026. Photo ID is shown in person at registration and weigh-in; do not upload it. Bring the originals of both certificates to the Technical Committee Desk, plus a completed sail registration form listing your declared sails.
Book one measurement slot per boat on For Competitors. Measurement and registration run 09:00 to 17:30 at Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club Marina. Shelter Cove boats are measured on trailers at Shelter Cove on 16 November; all other boats on 17 and 18 November (Asia Pacific) or 21 and 22 November (World Championship). Sail measurement is walk-in. World Championship weigh-in is mandatory for every crew member, with photo ID, whether or not they already weighed in for the Asia Pacific Championship.
Port of return. If your boat is shipping out after the championship, email Kamilah Mohd and Bram van Olphen of Central Oceans your final confirmation of the return port by 25 October 2026. Kamilah has been the shipping contact through the season. If we do not hear from you by that deadline, the boat will be returned to the location previously advised.
Vakaros Atlas 2. Racing is tracked with the Atlas 2. Rental is US$320 if booked by 7 November for World Championship check-in; a late fee applies 8 to 13 November; online booking closes from 14 November. Book on Vakaros.
In-water hull cleaning. Diver service on the 22 November lay day. Early-bird HK$750 if booked by 31 October; HK$1,000 from 1 to 15 November; no bookings after that. Book on For Competitors.
The Notice of Race, Sailing Instructions, amendments and online forms live on the Official Notice Boards. Where they disagree with this website, the Notice Board prevails. Open the Official Notice Boards.
